SIMAVE is the Sistema Mineiro de Avaliação e Equidade da Educação Pública — the public-school assessment system of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The portal at simave.educacao.mg.gov.br is where state and municipal schools, teachers and students handle the state's external assessments: test access, participation tracking and results. It is run by the Minas Gerais State Education Secretariat (SEE/MG), with the CAEd centre at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora supporting the platform.
Who uses the portal
The assessments cover public schools across Minas Gerais — the state network and municipal networks that join. School directors validate staff and student data in the portal before each round, coordinators enter answers from printed tests, and schools follow their students' participation while the window is open.
SIMAVE 2026 assessment window
The 2026 round runs from 19 October to 6 November 2026. The digital assessment, taken on the SIMAVE platform with a personal login and password, is for 8th-year elementary and 2nd-year high school students in the state network. The printed summative assessment covers 2nd, 5th and 9th-year elementary students and 3rd-year high school students, applied from 26 October to 6 November. Reading fluency assessment for 6th-year state students runs 19 to 30 October through the CAEd Avaliação app.
Portal SIMAVE login
Students and staff sign in with the login and password given by SEE/MG through their school — there is no public self-registration. If your credentials do not work, your school office is the first stop, since schools manage and validate the access data in the portal before the assessment window.
Results and open data
Results are published per school, network, municipality and regional superintendency. Public open data from the assessments is available through the state's assessments portal, for schools that meet the minimum student count and participation rules.
What schools do before the window
The assessment does not start on test day. In the weeks before, school directors validate professional and student data inside the portal, because a wrong enrolment record means a missing test or a missing result. Coordinators also learn the answer-entry flow for printed tests, so responses are typed into the portal correctly after application. If you are a parent or student and your name or year looks wrong in school records, flag it to the school office before the window opens — mid-window fixes are much harder.
